— About Us

Every route, checked before you take it.

Advantiko is run from Kyrgyzstan by sisters Evgeniia and Kseniia. We’re still working our way across our own country – while researching the rest of the world in just as much detail, whether we’ve set foot there yet or not.

Some of what we write comes from our own trips. The rest comes from weeks spent inside maps, timetables, and tour itineraries until a place we’ve never stood in still makes sense on paper.

We’ve both been to Turkey — a week in Antalya. Evgeniia spent a month in China with AIESEC, splitting her time between Beijing and Chengdu, and a month in France with a Lions Club program, based in Paris and La Baule (where her luggage went missing for two weeks and somehow saw more of the country than she did).

Kyrgyzstan, where we live, is still a work in progress — we haven’t covered it end to end yet, and we’re honest about that. For everywhere else, we do the homework properly: routes, transport options, entry points, which tours are worth booking and which roads are better done alone.

Our route so far

The milestones that shaped how Advantiko works today.

AIESEC exchange
A month in China
Evgeniia spent a month in China through AIESEC, splitting the time between Beijing and Qingdao — enough to learn how differently two cities in the same country can move.
Lions Club program
A month in France, and a suitcase with its own itinerary
Paris, then La Baule, for a month. Evgeniia's luggage went missing at the airport and turned up two weeks later — by then it had arguably seen more of the world than she had.
Together
A week in Antalya
A week in Turkey that convinced us we work well planning a route together, not just writing about one.
The idea
Why should the guide stop where we did?
We kept getting asked for advice on places we hadn't personally visited. Rather than guess, we started researching them as seriously as the places we knew — maps, transport timetables, and every tour option we could find.
Ongoing
Exploring Kyrgyzstan, properly
We haven't covered our own country end to end yet — that's very much in progress, and it keeps us honest about what "deeply researched" actually takes.
Today
Guides for independent travelers
Advantiko covers both kinds of trips — places we've walked ourselves and places we've researched in depth — built for travelers who want to explore on their own but won't rule out booking a tour when it makes sense.
