National Prague Museum Building
The museum is located in a majestic historic neo-Renaissance building. Its height is 70 meters and its length exceeds 100 meters. The building is decorated with five domes and a beautiful sculptural group: three human figures representing the lands of the Czech Republic – Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.
In front of the building there is a monument to St. Wenceslas.
Interior Decoration
The interior of National Museum on Wenceslas Square impresses with its luxury. The hall is decorated with sculptures, paintings by famous artists are hung on the walls, and you will climb the beautiful stone staircase to the central hall.
The feeling of a medieval castle is created by columns, arched openings and stucco molding on the ceiling.

The main building houses Natural Science Museum and the National Library, which houses almost 1.5 million rare books.
The Museum of Natural Sciences contains expositions on history, anthropology, archeology and paleontology. In the historical hall there are household items that people used more than a thousand years ago. The main pride of the hall is exhibits from Ancient Rome and Greece.
In the archeology hall, you can observe the development of the Czech Republic, starting from the time of the great warrior Jan Hus. There are also many objects of art and other valuables: crystal of the 18th-19th centuries, a crown of the 12th century, glass of the Renaissance.

If you’re into numismatics this museum is a must-visit. The ethnography hall contains the largest collection of coins in the world – about 500 thousand copies. It presents Czech and foreign coins, some of which were used in ancient times.
For lovers of culture, the museum has a theater hall, opened in 1930. It contains scenery, posters and other archival materials that tell about the development of theatrical craft in the Czech Republic.
