How to Use It

If you’ve purchased your tickets through the app, they will automatically appear there. If you bought your tickets through a third-party site, like Klook, you’ll need to scan them manually.

Entry Request

For some park activities, you may need this pass. It is especially required for meeting Disney characters. Since there is always a high demand for these experiences, it’s best to reserve your spot as soon as you enter the park.

To do this, you will need to go to “My Plan” in the app, select the activity and time you’re interested in, and after successful registration, you will need to scan the code at the entrance.

Standby Pass

This type of pass means you are reserving a spot in line for certain attractions or shops. The system will tell you when to come back for your turn.

Using this pass is not mandatory, and there are even days when it’s not available at all. However, there are also queues that you can only join through a Standby Pass. The system works the following way: as long as you have one unused pass, you cannot reserve another one.

The number of these passes is limited, meaning that for popular attractions, the queues may already be full as soon as the park opens, making it impossible to get in. Therefore, it’s recommended to plan your route through the park in advance to make sure you can visit everything you want.

Premier Access

At Tokyo Disneyland, there are certain attractions that are more popular than others. Since these rides always have long lines, you can use the Premier Access pass.

This pass is paid, meaning you’ll need to pay an additional fee for each attraction or parade you want to experience. For example, the Beauty and the Beast attraction costs 2,000 yen per person. For more details on which park experiences this pass applies to, you can check the official website.

This pass can be purchased once per hour, and you can also select the exact time you’d like to visit an attraction.

Themed Areas in Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland is divided into 7 main themed areas. The entrance area is called the Magic Kingdom, designed in the style of a classic American street from the early 20th century. Here you’ll find souvenir shops and dining spots. You can also take a ride around the main square of the park on a vintage double-decker bus.

Next, visitors enter Adventureland. This area features various themed attractions: you can ride a train, visit the Pirates of the Caribbean, embark on a jungle expedition, explore Robinson Crusoe’s treehouse, or enjoy the Stitch’s Theater.

Westernland is a theme area dedicated to the Wild West and everything related to it. There are mountains, gold mines, a shooting range, and the Teddy Bear Theater. Be sure to take a boat or raft ride along the river, but the most popular attraction here is Big Thunder Mountain.

Critter Country is a land of forests and beautiful natural landscapes. You can paddle a canoe, or use a priority pass to ride the popular Splash Mountain.

Next, head to Fantasyland, where you’ll find Cinderella’s Castle. Here, guests can meet the friendly elephant Dumbo and other beloved childhood characters, take a stroll through the Haunted Mansion, or enjoy a ride themed around the movie Beauty and the Beast. If you’d like, you can also join Winnie the Pooh on a honey hunt. A pass can also be purchased for this attraction.

In Toontown, you can meet some of Disney’s most famous characters—Mickey Mouse and his friends. This area of Tokyo Disneyland is mostly filled with attractions designed for children. However, it’s definitely worth a visit, as there are countless spots for beautiful cartoon-themed photo.

The futuristic Tomorrowland zone offers a journey to the space. Visitors can enjoy exciting attractions inspired by Star Wars and Monsters, Inc.

In 2001, another themed park, DisneySea, was built next to Tokyo Disneyland. Here, you can meet various animated characters related to marine themes. You’ll see Spanish galleons, ancient fortresses, and, of course, beloved characters like Ariel, Captain Nemo, and others. If you’re planning to visit DisneySea in Tokyo, be sure to check out our guide to the park.

Tokyo Disneyland Visiting Tips

  • Make sure to buy your tickets for the park in advance, and the easiest way to do that is through the Klook website.
  • It will be difficult to navigate the park without the app, so it’s better to install it beforehand and scan your tickets. If you don’t have a Japanese SIM card, you can purchase an e-SIM to stay connected at all times.
  • Trains traveling to and from the Disneyland park are always packed, so it’s better to either take a bus or stay at a nearby hotel. The bus option isn’t perfect either, as due to the park’s popularity, you may end up stuck in traffic for a long time.
  • Tokyo Disneyland is popular with visitors year-round, and it’s always crowded with long lines. However, going during spring or summer break, or the Christmas holidays, may not be the best idea.
  • Within Disneyland, there are attractions that offer a “Single” rule. This means you can enjoy the attraction alone, and there’s a separate queue for solo riders. This line moves much faster, as single riders are seated in any available spots. So, if you don’t mind being apart from your companion, you can save a lot of time.
