How to get
The easiest way is to fly to Ho Chi Minh City, and from there by train or bus to get to the place. You can take a taxi, but the price for such a trip will be high. On average, it takes about 3 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh to Phan Thiet.
Best time to visit
As for the best season to visit Phan Thiet, this resort has such climate conditions that you can relax there almost all year round, there is not even a rainy season as such.
But the “official” holiday season in Phan Thiet is considered the period from November to May, when there is no precipitation and the water is very warm.
It’s better not to plan your trip in April, in addition to high temperatures the humidity level is also very high.
Summer is the great time for windsurfers – typhoons that rage in Nha Trang don’t reach here, but the waves are just great.
Things to do in Phan Thiet
In the city itself and its environs there is a large number of historical and architectural monuments, as well as natural attractions.
Ke Ga Lighthouse
One of the must-visit places not far from Phan Thiet is Ke Ga – the most beautiful lighthouse in Asia, which is located on the remote small island not far from the resort.
Red Sand Dunes
One of the popular tourist attractions in Phan Thiet is located just five minutes from the city center – Red Sand Dunes. This place got its name because of the color of the sand. If you climb to the top of the dunes, you can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the bay.
Red Canyon
Another beautiful place very close to the dunes is Red Canyon, which was formed by the washing out of clay-sandy soils by rain streams. If you drive away at a distance of ten kilometers, then you will find the White Dunes – the same as red ones, but with lighter sand.
Here, tourists also have the opportunity to admire the picturesque Bau Trang Lake covered with blooming pink lotuses.
