Da Nang is the fourth most populated city in Vietnam. It is located in central Vietnam on the coast of the South China Sea, at the mouth of the huge Han River, and is divided by it into two halves. Da Nang has the largest port in the country, which is of world importance: it is located at the crossroads of trade and waterways.

Things to Do in Da Nang

Due to its deep water harbor, the port is capable of accommodating large ships. Da Nang resort itself is in many ways similar to other cities in Vietnam: the same narrow-width and elongated houses, numerous roadside cafes, crowds of Vietnamese on motorbikes, fish markets, exotic Vietnamese fruits, Buddhist pagodas.

Da Nang is a big city, with a population of almost one million people, but the resort is separated from the urban area by the wide Han River.

Enjoy Beach Vacation

In Da Nang, there are many beautiful beaches that you can check, but one of the most popular is My Khe beach. The wide coastal zone, formed naturally, stretches for many kilometers and seems endless. It’s a great place to enjoy sunbathing, snorkeling.

There are few tourists here and locals as well, as they don’t like to sunbathe. The sea is transparent, beautiful azure color, and the depth increases gradually.

Such places as Non Nuoc, Bac My An, Lang Co are also worth visiting.

Marble Mountains

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Da Nang is the marble mountains, where local craftsmen have been extracting marble for many centuries. At the foot of the mountains there are villages whose inhabitants earn money by selling marble products.

At the top of one of the highest and most beautiful mountains there is a pagoda. Follow a stone staircase, consisting of 380 steps. From here you have an amazing view of the surroundings. At the back of the pagoda is the Tang Chon Cave.

The cave was used as a hospital during the Vietnam War. It was here, under the noses of their enemies, that doctors brought hundreds of partisans back to life. So an excursion to these places will not leave you indifferent.

Tan Sen Cave, Da Nang, Vietnam

Visit Ba Na-Nui Chua Nature Reserve

Another must-see visit place in Da Nang is Mount Ba Na. This place is located 40 km from the city center. Previously, in order to climb the mountain to a height of 1487 m, tourists had to overcome 15 km of roads with sharp turns and slopes. Since 2009, tourists can climb Ba Na mount by cable car, which is included in the Guinness Book.

Memorial at Ba Na-Nui Chua

At an altitude of 1478 meters it’s pretty cool. And in one day you can experience all four seasons: spring morning, summer day, autumn evening and cold winter night. If you come to Ba Na-Nui Chua in spring, the chances are very high that you’ll see a lot of beautiful flowers blooming. There is special types of sakura growing on Ba Na mount – the flowers are bell-shaped.

What else to see in Da Nang? As in any tourist city in Da Nang, local tour companies offer a lot of different entertainment: boat trips, hot springs, diving, Champa Kingdom Culture Museum, spas, souvenir shops. It’s also worth visiting the old town of Hoi An, located not far from Da Nang.

This pedestrian bridge, which is 150 meters long was opened to public in 2018. It became one of the popular photo spot in Vietnam.

Best Time to Visit Da Nang

Da Nang is influenced by the monsoons. The hottest weather is at the end of summer. In winter, the temperature is relatively cold for the Asian region and is + 18-19 ° C. The high season begins in the first month of the year – January, and lasts until the end of spring.
