Mirissa beach

This beach is considered one of the most beautiful on the entire Sri Lanka island. Nearby are inexpensive restaurants with Asian, European and Sri Lankan food, which serve freshly caught seafood. The sand on the beach is clean and fine, and there are relatively few tourists. There are several bars, but almost all of them are closed in the evenings.

This beach has high waves, so it’s ideal place for surfers, but not a great option for families with small children. The coastline is surrounded by the rocks on both sides, which looks especially beautiful in the photo.

The beach area is divided into two parts. The first is wide and crowded. There is a gentle entrance to the water, but strong waves. The second part is a few minutes from the main one, closer to the beginning of the beach strip. Here it gets deep faster, but there are fewer waves.
